Learning Links AmeriCorps
The Learning Links AmeriCorps Program engages four full-time and two part-time AmeriCorps Volunteers ensuring collaborative partnerships and continuity of services for children across three key aspects of a child’s day: at school, after school, and in their communities.
Toward this end, one Corps member serves at each of the four schools where Learning ROCKS! students are enrolled: Campbell, Carlin Springs, Claremont, and Randolph elementary schools. Coprs Members also design and facilitate family-centered activities at Columbia Grove Apartments one Saturday each month.
By serving in three distinct sites where children spend their lives (school, afterschool, home/community), members will serve a unique function that cannot be met by staff.
AmeriCorps VISTA
The Development and Outreach AmeriCorps VISTA serves a capacity building function, focusing on four major goals. Specifically, the VISTA works to 1.identify and address GBLC program needs through recruiting, training, and supporting community volunteers; 2. expand the Parent & Community
Outreach program; 3. research and develop grant proposals to support proposals for funding; and 4. develop external agency communication.
