Programs: Parents & Community

We realize that to fully impact the academic and social well-being of the children, we need to connect and form positive relationships with their parents and caregivers. As a result, GBLC offers adult workshops at two sites: Greenbrier at Night (bi-weekly on Mondays) and Parent Connection at Virginia Gardens (weekly on Tuesdays).

The workshops fall into four main categories: Healthy Lifestyles, Positive Parenting, Personal Development, and Community & Safety. Workshop topics include nutrition, exercise, crafts, cultural cooking, parenting, gang prevention, parent/teacher conferences, financial planning, home ownership, safety, community building, immigration & worker rights, and more.

Please see the calendar for a schedule of upcoming workshops!

To volunteer to lead a workshop or help provide childcare during a workshop, please contact us.
