Get Involved: Volunteer!
Have few hours to spare each week or month? Want to make a difference in the lives of some fantastic children, youth, and families? Well, we have a place for you! High school and college students, professionals, and retirees have all spent their valuable time and talents with GBLC programs.
Volunteers are needed to:
- tutor 3rd-5th graders
- spend time with children while their parents are at a workshop or English class
- lead a parent workshop
- translate documents into Spanish or interpret at a parent workshop
- assist with administrative duties -and much more!
Our internship program allows college and university students to apply their classroom knowledge in a community-based setting. Interns have the opportunity to work with elementary school students, teens, or adults. Interns also have the option to go "behind the scenes" of the Greenbrier Learning Center and find out how a small nonprofit organization works! We are a Field Placement Site for George Mason University Social Work and Service Learning students.
If you would like to volunteer or intern or for more information, please e-mail Sarah Bordeaux at volunteer@gblc.org.
